Please read the terms and conditions. By completing and submitting your booking registration with WLJ, you agree to be bound by these conditions.
To book your place on a Wanderlust Journeys trip, complete the online booking form and forward with a colour copy of your passport and the advertised non-refundable deposit or payment in full, that applies to your tour.
A reservation will not be held or confirmed until this deposit and all requested details (including a copy of your passport), are received. If booking after the advertised final payment date, the full cost of the trip price and requested details are required to confirm your booking.
If the full amount is not paid on or before the due date we reserve the right to cancel your booking.
Your booking must be under your full name as per your passport and your passport must be valid for more than 6 months from the date of departure of your trip.
The final payment date for each guided journey will differ due to varying demands from our travel partners. This date will be advertised on each journeys’ web page and included in your deposit confirmation receipt.
All payment is via our Travel Manager, David Hull and may be made by direct deposit, cheques or BPAY. BPAY payments made via credit card will incur a merchant fee.

Under no circumstances will our Travel Manager accept cash payments, nor should payments be made to any other bank account.

CANCELLATION & REFUNDS
The trip deposits are to offset costs incurred prior to the commencement of travel, as required by our partners and providers and are therefore non-refundable.
Our guided trip prices are advertised based on pricing provided by our travel partners, prevailing fuel prices, airfares and currency exchange rates and are subject to change without notice. Any of these price increases are beyond our control and we will do our best to minimise any extra cost to you in these circumstances.
Some guided journeys might require a minimum number of travellers to proceed and will be advertised as such. If less than minimum numbers are reached, you could be charged a higher price if you still choose to travel.
Wanderlust Journeys also reserves the right to cancel any Program due to any government travel warning or advice, or any change in such warning or advice. If your trip is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances an alternative of a similar standard will be offered. If this is not acceptable any money paid will be refunded less any expenses incurred by Wanderlust Journeys and their partner companies. Travel insurance may compensate you depending on the circumstances.
If you choose to cancel your trip, your cancellation must be made in writing to Wanderlust Journeys. Any cancellation by you will incur the loss of all deposits and payments.
If you chose to leave a trip early we are unable to provide any refund. No refund or compensation will be made or given for any unused hotel accommodation, air tickets or any other unused service or feature of the trip.
It is in the nature of Wanderlust Journeys trips that arrangements and participants have to be flexible. The itinerary and ultimate goal of our trips are taken as aims and not as contractual obligations. It is a necessary condition of you joining that you accept this flexibility, and that you also accept Wanderlust Journeys or it’s partners cannot be held responsible for delays or alterations to the program or for expenses incurred, due to international or internal flight cancellations, automobiles and other means of conveyance disruptions, strikes, sickness, weather and other forces of nature, war, quarantine, force, major political closures and disputes.
Our guided trips are always flexible and at times as a group or on advice given to our guides we will make changes to the itinerary to provide you with the best possible experience.
We reserve the right to change an itinerary before or after departure due to local circumstances or events outside of our control.
AUTHORITY ON TOUR
Our guided trips are run by a group leader whose decisions on well being and safety for any traveller in the group is final. Your trip guide and Wanderlust Journeys travel partner staff will do their utmost to ensure that any problems are solved for the benefit of the group as a whole.
If you fail to comply with reasonable instructions whilst on the tour or you interfere with other clients enjoyment of the tour you may be excluded from continuing the trip with no right of refund. The decision of the Guide as to the conduct, itinerary and objectives of the trip is final.
Travelling with a group you will be exposed to all the pleasures and maybe even a few frustrations. Please be understanding and patient with your fellow travellers. Good group dynamics makes a wonderful trip and takes a little work on your part.
Everyone has the right to feel safe and secure on their trip. We won’t tolerate any form of sexual harassment, either between passengers or involving our leaders or local operators. If you ever feel another person is behaving inappropriately please immediately inform your guide or contact the in-country emergency number that we provide.
You agree that the nature of travel is adventurous and involves a degree of personal risk.
In the event of civil unrest or any political situations while you are travelling, Wanderlust Journeys partners undertake to inform you of the situation as soon as they have knowledge of it.
Wanderlust Journeys will not be responsible for any loss, damage or accident to any luggage and property even when carried by a third party (e.g. porters or support vehicles).
Ongoing political and ethnic tensions can lead to unrest and violent protest in Tibet. While foreigners are not normally targeted during unrest, you should be alert to the possibility of being caught up in any unexpected demonstrations or outbreaks of violence. Security measures are tight around any large public gathering and unauthorised gatherings may be dispersed by force. Avoid becoming involved in any protests or calls for Tibetan independence and don’t film or photograph any such activities.
The Chinese authorities sometimes suspend issuing Tibet Entry Permits to foreign nationals, and may also restrict travel to Tibetan Autonomous These restrictions can happen at any time, but in particular during sensitive periods or major religious festivals - especially around February and March, coinciding with the Tibetan new year festival and the anniversary of certain uprisings in Tibet.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
We contract with a number of companies, government agencies and individuals as third parties to assist in the running of our trips. We are not responsible for the acts and omissions of these third parties.
If you have a complaint please inform your group guide or local representative at the time so they can try and rectify the matter.
If still unsatisfied then any further complaint should be in writing to us within 30 days of the end of the tour.
PHOTOS & MARKETING
You consent to Wanderlust Journeys using any images of you taken during the trip for advertising and promotional purposes.
ABILITY TO TRAVEL
Bookings are accepted, on the understanding that the individual travelling possesses good health and an adequate level of fitness, stamina and mobility to participate. We will provide information for each trip as to the level of fitness required but in all cases the minimal fitness level is:
To be able to carry your own bag, if required
Walk up and down at least two flights of stairs
Walk a minimum of 3km over uneven ground
All medical conditions and medications must be stated on the medical form provided with your booking application. In certain circumstances we may request medical proof of fitness.
Travellers with additional needs are welcome to contact us to discuss your particular requirements.
Prices for guided trips are based on flights ex Melbourne, on the dates advertised. Our Travel Manager David Hull will be happy to assist with any variations, additional arrangements or departure from another city and these changes may be subject to additional handling fee.
Comprehensive travel insurance is a compulsory condition of travelling with Wanderlust Journeys. Details of your policy and the insurance company’s 24-hour emergency contact number, are required as part of our booking process.
Your insurance policy must cover you for cancellation and loss of deposit, loss of luggage and personal effects, medical expenses including repatriation, accident and personal liability.
When purchasing your policy, make sure you choose a plan with the correct activity level (eg. Trekking), to ensure you are covered for medical evacuation and medical costs, should the unexpected happen while up in the mountains. Be aware, not all companies cover evacuation above 4,000 metres.
Our Travel Manager is happy to advise on insurance and offers competitive prices.
Our guided journey prices are based on twin share accommodation. If you would prefer your own room, we will accommodate this wherever possible and a single supplement cost will apply.
PASSPORT & VISA
Nepal visas are the responsibility of the individual traveller and we recommend obtaining your Visa on arrival at the airport.
Tibet & Bhutan visas are obtained by our representatives in Nepal and included in the trip price.
Visa requirements specific to each Wanderlust Journeys trip will be advised on the ‘Cost & Inclusions’ page for group journeys or with your ‘Bespoke’ information package.
As a general rule most countries expect that you will have at least 6 months' validity on your passport. On arrival visitors may be asked to present return tickets and evidence of means to cover your intended stay.
You must carry a minimum of 4 passport photos with you on each journey for Visas and entry passes.
Vaccinations may be required or recommended for the countries you are visiting. Wanderlust Journeys strongly recommend that you check with a Travel Clinic or your doctor, to obtain the latest up-to-date information regarding vaccinations and health precautions. Some vaccines require more than one dose, so arrange for your visit at least 4-6 weeks before you travel.

CHECKING TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
We have researched and exercised all due care in putting together the arrangements for your travel. It is important that you check all documentation to ensure that it meets with your requirements and there is no misunderstanding. All documents, in relation to international travel, must be issued in the name of the passport holder.
We recommend that you contact your airline prior to any travel to ensure that the scheduled departure time has not changed.
Payment of any excess baggage charges is the Travellers sole responsibility
Carry on baggage is subject to security rules on the carriage of various items. It is your responsibility to check with the relevant authorities.
